Vivien Burgess

Vivien has been painting for 25 years in the Botanical style using either watercolours or coloured pencils. She paints flowers, but specialises in fruit and vegetables.

When first coming to live in Ringwood she joined the Ringwood Art Society and for several years was secretary. Now she has increased her memberships, as Botanical painting became her first love, to the prestigious Society of Botanical Artists, membership for which was gained by selection. This Society holds annual Exhibitions at Central Hall, Westminster. She is also a Committee member for the Society of Floral Painters which hold exhibitions, at present, both at Mottisfont Abbey and the Hilliers Arboretum near Romsey. Lately she has enjoyed painting miniatures and has been selected as an Associate Member of the Royal Society of Miniature Painters who have recently held their exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London. She is also a member of the Hillard and Limners Societies for miniature paintings.

Vivien has gained several awards for Botanical Painting, the Joyce Cuming Presentation award and St Cuthbert's Mill award at the Society of Botanical Artists London Exhibitions and numerous trophies and certificates from all her other societies over the years.

She has had pictures published in the Arte-y-Botanica by Lunwerg Editors in Madrid in 2000, in the Art of Botanical painting by Collins and recently in the Botanical Palette also by Collins.
